Using the OS/2 Lotus Notes Backup Agent
You can restore deleted Lotus Notes documents from ADSM storage, if the
deletion stubs have not been purged from the database. The deleted
documents are replaced with documents that are backed up on the ADSM
server.
For more information about restoring deleted documents, see the
dsmnotes restdel command ("dsmnotes restdel").
Follow these steps to restore documents that have been deleted but not yet
purged from your Lotus Notes database:
- Open the database that contained the deleted documents.
- Click on the Actions menu.
- Select ADSM Restore Deleted Documents(s).
- If the ADSM Password dialog box displays, type in the ADSM
password and click on the OK button or press
Enter.
- The ADSM Restore Deleted Docs dialog box displays.

- If you want to restore only those documents deleted less than a certain
number of days ago, type this number of days in the Restore all documents
deleted less than nnnn days ago field.
If you leave this field blank, it uses the zero default. Then all
the deleted, but not yet purged, documents are restored.
- Select Wait for tape mounting if necessary (selected as
the default). You can deselect this option if you do not want
ADSM to wait for files that are on tape.
- Click on Restore or press Enter to restore your
documents.
- To see the restored documents, click on the View menu and select Refresh
or press F9.
Click on the Cancel button at any time to exit the dialog box
without restoring any documents.
Click on the Help button at any time to get online help.
