Installing the Clients

Windows NT and Windows 95 Client Environment

This section contains client environment information, including hardware and software requirements, for the Windows NT and Windows 95 platforms.

Client Components

The following ADSM client components can be installed on a Windows NT or Windows 95 workstation:

• Backup-archive client (command-line and GUI)
• Administrative client (command-line and GUI)
• API
• Webshell client
• ADSM Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) driver

Hardware Requirements

• Intel-based 80386 or greater
• Disk space: 32 MB required to install all client components. A compact install only needs 18 MB of disk space.
• Memory: 16 MB required to do a full install of the 32-bit client package.

The online installation instructions display how much space is required for the selected installation options, and how much space is available on the hard disk.

Operating System

• Microsoft Windows NT (Version 3.5.1 or later)
• Microsoft Windows 95
