All ADSM clients are included on the server installation CD-ROM. You can install the clients using one or all of the methods listed below.
If you want to copy all of the clients to your server workstation so that client workstations can get the files from the x:\adsmcli directory, an OS/2 example would be the following command:
Note: | All of the examples in this chapter use the h drive as the CD-ROM or mounted drive. Substitute h with the CD-ROM drive or your system. |
The client images are organized on the ADSM product CD-ROMs, in two CD-ROMs, a UNIX client CD-ROM and a desktop client CD-ROM, in the adsmcli\'platform'\ directory structure, where 'platform' is one of the following platform designations: digital, hpux, mac, ncr, nec, ntw, os2, sco, sequent, sgi, sinix, solaris, win32. The AIX client images are in the /usr/sys/inst.image directory.
In order to install a client directly from the CD-ROM, you must install the client which matches the operating system of your machine. For example, to install the OS/2 client, you must place the desktop client CD-ROM in the CD-ROM of the OS/2 machine.
You will need a BinHex converter to convert the ADSM Macintosh installation file before you install it. Programs such as Stuffit Deluxe and Compact Pro can convert the files. In addition, BinHex 4.0, a freeware program, can be found at most major FTP sites including ftp.apple.com, and from online services such as, CompuServe and America Online.
National language support (NLS) allows the ADSM clients to display help messages and text in languages other than English. The ADSM clients platforms and their supported languages follow:
Digital Windows NT: American English, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Swedish
