All EXPORT and IMPORT operations described in the previous sections can also be done to virtual volumes. Data stored as virtual volumes appear to be sequential storage pool volumes on the source server, but are actually stored as archive files on another server. Those archive files can be in random or sequential access storage pools. The EXPORT and IMPORT commands are identical to those previously shown, except that the device class specified in the commands must have a device type of SERVER.
